The aim of an upper body lift is to remove and tighten excess skin. Areas of treatment include the arms, breast area, neck, and back. This procedure is suitable for men and women who have lost a large amount of weight which could be either through diet and exercise or through bariatric surgery.
You are a good candidate for upper body lift if you have already reached your goal weight and have been stable for at least 6 months. As a result of your weight loss you may have some loose skin and/or fat deposits around your upper body. You should be physically and mentally healthy, have realistic expectations and be willing to accept the scars associated with an upper body lift.
Upper body lift surgery is performed at Lingard Private Hospital or Warners Bay Private Hospital. You may be in hospital for 5-7 days after surgery.
The Medicare item number is 30171. We encourage our patients to check with their health fund that they are covered prior to their consultation/surgery.
