Dr Kirstin Miteff is a fully trained and experienced Aesthetic, Plastic, and Reconstructive Surgeon. Born and raised in Sydney, she relocated to Newcastle in 2017 with her family after completing her Plastic Surgery training and an additional two years sub-specialty Fellowship training in Craniomaxillofacial Surgery.
Dr Kirstin Miteff trained as a Physiotherapist, prior to completing a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Sydney in 2003. She undertook her medical internship at Royal Prince Alfred in Sydney before working in Perth and the United Kingdom.
In 2007, she entered preliminary surgical training in Taranaki and Hamilton, New Zealand, and was accepted into the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Training Program in 2009. She performed her specialist training in Auckland, Hamilton (New Zealand), and Perth, gaining extensive experience in General Plastic Surgery, Breast Reconstruction, Hand Surgery, and Cosmetic – Breast / Body and Facial Plastic Surgery.
In 2014, she was awarded the Allergan Best Reconstructive Award for her work with Scarless Latissimus Dorsi Flap for Breast Reconstruction.
Dr Kirstin Miteff was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in 2016. She further specialised in Cleft and Craniomaxillofacial Surgery during her Fellowship at Hutt Hospital, Wellington; and Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital, Brisbane.
In 2019, she opened Aspire Plastic Surgery and is committed to providing caring, informed surgical care to patients in Newcastle and Greater Hunter region.
She has been appointed to John Hunter Hospital as part of the Plastic and Reconstructive Service for Hunter New England Health. She is also a member of the Head and Neck, Melanoma, and Breast multidisciplinary treatment teams.
